Description

This course provides 4-year-old students with foundational skills to help prepare them for kindergarten. Course content focuses on eight domains: Physical Development, Approaches to Learning, Social and Emotional Development, Language and Literacy, Mathematical Thinking, Scientific Inquiry, Social Studies, and Creative Expression Through the Arts. The Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards will be taught through developmentally appropriate play-based learning. Course content will be designed to meet the needs of the whole child and is constructed on research-based best practices. Students will be prepared for early literacy, mathematical reasoning, social-emotional, physical, and cognitive development. This comprehensive program will give students the foundation needed to succeed in a Kindergarten program and equip them with the skills needed to complete the statewide kindergarten screening.
