To kick off the new year, I’m excited to announce that we’re presenting three sessions at this year’s Future of Education Technology Conference (FETC) on Jan. 23-26 in Orlando, FL. This transformative event empowers education leaders to shape the future of education and unlock unparalleled success for students. 

Our sessions will feature FlexPoint curriculum development experts, instructional leaders, and implementation professionals, whose goal is to help school and district leaders, like you, take your online learning programs to the next level. 

To help FETC attendees plan out which sessions to attend, I’ve put together a summary of each FlexPoint session including the date, time, and topic. Mark your calendars because these are three FETC presentations you don’t want to miss. 

FETC Session 1: Five Ways to Elevate and Evolve Your CTE Programs

When economic impacts like rising inflation and a higher cost of doing business are changing the employment landscape, it’s critical that educators prepare students for careers in current and emerging professions through Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. 

In this FETC workshop, Amy Heflin, Senior Manager of Curriculum Development and Martin Kelly, Senior Director of Curriculum Development will help school and district leaders elevate and evolve their Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs to ensure that students go into high-demand, high wage jobs or continue with postsecondary education. 

Attendees will learn:

  • Tips to research local job markets
  • Strategies to elevate CTE programs to ensure decisions are driven by what employers want, paired with what students are excited about
  • Tactics to help students gain employability skills

FETC Session 2: How to Implement Online Curriculum and Instruction in Your School

Research continues to highlight the need for alternative education programs, like online education, to support families. In fact, in a recent FlexPoint survey, 81% of parents believe online learning helps their children better prepare for the future and 94% believe it positively impacts their children’s ability to understand courses. 

During this FETC leadership round table, Katie Perry, Director of Sales Support & Services and Katie Santana, Senior Director of Instruction will discuss key steps and considerations needed to successfully implement online curriculum and instruction in your school or district. Attendees will learn:

  • Effective strategies for selecting appropriate online platforms and tools
  • How to adapt digital curriculum to meet students’ needs
  • Ways to support teachers to foster student success

FETC Session 3: Safeguarding Academic Integrity in the Era of Emerging Technologies

A recent survey by Common Sense found that 58% of students ages 12 to 18 have used ChatGPT and 77% of parents are excited about the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in education. While these findings show that parents and students are generally optimistic about the potential of AI, the rapid advancement of emerging technologies has brought forth new challenges to maintaining academic integrity. 

During this FETC concurrent session, Anna Beard, Senior Manager of Academic Integrity, and Robin Winder, Chief Academic Officer, will:

  • Discuss and explore effective strategies educators can use to address the impact of emerging technologies on student learning
  • Share insights, experiences, and best practices to foster a collaborative environment that supports the development of comprehensive solutions
