Nicole Lowrey
Nicole “Nikki” Lowrey is helping shape the future of online education as chief of staff for FlexPoint, where she leads strategic initiatives for both FlexPoint and Florida Virtual School (FLVS).
In her role, Lowrey oversees several key areas of the organization, including External Affairs and Advocacy, Human Resources and Operations, and the FLVS Board of Trustees Clerk. She also guides the work of the FLVS Foundation, supporting efforts that expand educational opportunities for students. As a member of the executive leadership team, she plays a central role in advancing the organization’s strategic vision, strengthening its brand, shaping legislative engagement, and driving data-informed decision-making.
A seasoned strategist and communications leader, Lowrey brings more than two decades of experience translating complex issues into compelling narratives that influence public policy and public perception. Her career has spanned the private and nonprofit sectors, as well as state and federal government, with a particular focus on education policy and public affairs.
Before joining FlexPoint and FLVS, Lowrey served as a strategy consultant for Step Up For Students and as Florida State director for StudentsFirst, a national education reform organization. In that role, she led teams specializing in public policy, advocacy and outreach, and media relations, helping advance education policy initiatives across the state.
Lowrey's extensive background in K-12 education is complemented by leadership positions within the Florida Executive Office of the Governor, the Florida Department of Education, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Her experience across government, public policy, and communications continues to inform her work as FlexPoint and FLVS expands its impact in Florida and beyond.
